Tanning beds were once considered safer than the sun; however, this has changed with research. The majority of tanning salons today exceed the UV limits in their beds and use UVA rays, the type of ray that causes skin cancer and other health issues.
Health issues that may arise are cataracts due to repeated overexposure to ultraviolet light, photagining of the skin which causes the leathery look, and cancer.
